Sydney Metro – Crows Nest Station
Construction of Crows Nest Station with integrated transport, retail, and public domain improvements
Artea Green Ventures (AGV) provided independent environmental auditing services for the construction of Sydney Metro’s new Crows Nest Station, in accordance with State Significant Infrastructure (SSI) requirements.
The project involved auditing environmental compliance, management systems, and regulatory obligations for the station and associated precinct development. Key elements included two station entrances, retail spaces, public domain works (footpaths, street tree planting, lighting, and street furniture), upgraded pedestrian crossings, new pedestrian lights on the Pacific Highway, Hume Street bi-directional cycle link, bike parking, kiss-and-ride and taxi bays, wayfinding signage, and a 10-storey commercial tower.
AGV conducted site inspections, verified environmental management practices, and assessed mitigation measures for noise, traffic, stormwater, biodiversity, and community impacts. Audits ensured that construction activities minimized disruption to local residents, businesses, and commuters while maintaining compliance with SSD conditions. Detailed technical reports documented findings, compliance status, and recommendations for continuous improvement. AGV liaised with A W Edwards, Transport for NSW, contractors, and regulatory authorities to verify implementation of environmental safeguards and best practices.
Through independent verification, AGV reinforced the project’s commitment to sustainable, safe, and community-focused infrastructure delivery, supporting Sydney Metro’s goal of creating integrated, world-class transport hubs that enhance connectivity, urban amenity, and commercial opportunities.
