Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2

Expand light rail to connect Greater Parramatta and Olympic Peninsula, supporting the vision of a 30-minute city

Artea Green Ventures (AGV) provided independent environmental auditing services for Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2, in accordance with State Significant Infrastructure (SSI) requirements.

The project involved auditing environmental compliance, management systems, and regulatory obligations across a new 10km light rail corridor with 14 stops, connecting Camellia to the Carter Street Precinct via Sydney Olympic Park, and onward to Parramatta CBD. AGV conducted site inspections, verified environmental management practices, and assessed mitigation measures for traffic, noise, stormwater, biodiversity, and community impacts. Audits focused on construction activities including the Enabling Works package, which featured a new public and active transport bridge over the Parramatta River, and upgrades to surrounding public spaces.

AGV liaised with Transport for NSW, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure that all environmental safeguards and SSD conditions were implemented effectively. Detailed technical reports documented compliance, findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement, supporting safe, responsible, and sustainable project delivery.

The project integrates connections to Sydney Metro West, heavy rail, and ferry services, creating a high-frequency, sustainable transport network. Through independent verification, AGV reinforced the project’s commitment to environmental performance, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of modern, resilient, and community-focused transport infrastructure in Western Sydney.
